Jeannie the owner is fabulous to work with. Aloha Movers assisted us with several different needs including moving out of a home, storing some items, and then moving some items across the island. Aloha Movers is responsive, communicates, shows up when they say they will, and holds the highest standards. They always made us feel like they respected our time and business, and that they were taking care of our goods with the utmost care as if they were their own. We decided to move in two stages to keep our condo in Kona staged with a large portion of our big furniture, and moved personal items and necessities for the first portion of the move. Jeannie, the owner, was very thorough explaining timelines, charges and recommendations to make the move most efficient. The first portion of the move turned out to take somewhat longer than expected-there were a lot of bins and boxes containing kitchen and personal items that were very heavy and fragile, and the movers took their time to make sure everything was not damaged in transport. Their care clearly paid off in the end, not one item was broken or damaged. They were all so easy to work with-helpful, good natured and willing to do what was needed to get the job done. When our condo sold we used Aloha again to move the final large furniture pieces. My husband and I had a lot of scheduling considerations-we had to sign closing documents on the condo at a specific time, pick up tax documents from our CPA and my husband had a flight to the mainland to help out after his fathers surgery. We were a bit stressed, but once again Jeannie was flexible, clear in her communications so we could plan our timelines, and very kind and easy to work with. Our house underwent 4 months of extensive renovations during which Aloha Movers wrapped and stored our furnishings for us. Everything was redelivered and reassembled smoothly without any damage to our furniture, new wood floors or walls. One glass lampshade that had already had a small crack from before broke during reassembly. If you are looking for a reliable mover for your household goods, I strongly recommend Aloha Movers and Storage in Waimea (Kamuela). Our move involved pulling a 20-foot Matson container from the Kawaihae Port, transferring the contents to an Aloha Mover's truck at their warehouse, then delivery and installation at our home in Alii Heights. The company owner is Jeannie. She gives you that very personal touch you can only get from an owner-operator. She kept me updated on the progress of the move by phone until the moving truck arrived at our home. In fact, Jeannie drove the truck on moving day, supervised her workers, and pitched in, though she did not count herself as a mover in the hourly cost. The heavy lifters were Dean and Bruce, two very personable and capable people. They did a great job handling our furniture and boxes. Aloha Movers' costs came in below estimates we received from White Gloves, Kona Transportation, and City Moving. Trucking costs were kept low because Aloha's warehouse is located within a mile of Kawaihae port. One more plus: They were able to fit us into their busy schedule on very short notice. Stacey V. In addition, they try to use recycled materials as much as they can and will reuse materials when feasible. Their storage facilities are at Kawaihae, a dry area of the Big Island, and are treated for pests. We had no issues with any of our belongings after storage there. Both our architect and realtor highly recommended Jeannie and Aloha Movers to us for my parents move back to the mainland so we called them. Jeannie and her crew arrived on time as scheduled and professionally packed everything up for us so my parents didn't have to lift a finger. She oversaw the whole process and was right there with the crew helping every step of the way. They actually made the experience almost fun because of their great attitudes and chemistry together, a lot of laughter. They took the time to assess and carefully wrap and move the antiques and heavy furniture. They built a custom crate specifically for my mom's stone sculptures and braced them inside. They were even able to offer us storage at their warehouse for a few weeks before shipping because my parents' new house in California wasn't ready yet. When my parents received everything at their new house everything was easy for them to unpack because all the boxes were labelled with the exact rooms they came from. Everything arrived in the same condition because of the efficient way they packed the container and strapped everything in. She updated us every step of the way over the course of almost 2 months and was prompt to answer our questions, great service. They provided all the packing materials and do all the heavy lifting, definitely worth the money you spend. We've since recommended them to our friends who are also happy with how their local moves were conducted. My wife and I will be moving next year to join my parents and we will definitely be using Aloha Movers again! Alene W. We had a wonderful experience working with Aloha Movers when we moved to the Big Island of Hawaii in 2017. We used them again to accept delivery of, store, and deliver a large wood crate of additional furniture we had shipped from the mainland. We recently moved back to the mainland and worked with Jeannie and her team at Aloha Movers to arrange a container to be delivered to our home in Hawaii, for us to load, have shipped to the mainland, and delivered to our new home. Throughout the entire process Jeannie was fantastic, providing us frequent status updates and confirming pick up and delivery times. She is extremely knowledgeable and would highly recommend Aloha Movers if you are moving to the Big Island, need help moving on the Big Island, or arranging a move from Hawaii back to the mainland!
